段々暑くなってきましたね。お元気ですか？
久しぶりの投稿になります（苦笑）
最近、友達から勧められて、佐野市の『英語通訳ボランティア』というものに登録してみました。
すると早速、依頼がきて、先週末にお仕事したのです(*^^*)
通訳の内容は、
国際クリケット大会の閉会式にて、来賓の方々の祝辞を通訳するというお仕事。
佐野市って、クリケットに凄く力をいれているんですよね。
そして、6日間をかけて、
香港やモンゴル、フィリピン、中国など、沢山の国のメンバーが、佐野の国際競技場に集結し、
暑い戦いを繰り広げたのです！！
その閉会式での、通訳のお仕事。
事前に挨拶文をいただき、英文へ翻訳したものを数回読み込んで、準備をしていきました。
通訳対応の結果は、バッチリ！！（多分）
そして通訳後、嬉しかったことがありました。
香港チームの監督が駆け寄ってきて、君の英語は聞きやすい、とても良かった！
と褒めていただいたのです♪
これは嬉しかったですね(*^^*)
その後の交流会では、佐野市の議員の方々と選手との会話の通訳をしました。
これからますますクリケットが盛んになって、また通訳する機会が増えるといいな。

It’s getting hotter these days. How have you been?
It’s been a while since my last post (haha).
Recently, a friend recommended that I join the “English Volunteer Interpreter” group in Sano City.
So I signed up—and right away, I got my first assignment last weekend!
I was asked to interpret speeches from guests at the closing ceremony of an international cricket tournament.
Did you know Sano City is really passionate about cricket?
Over six days, teams from countries like Hong Kong, Mongolia, the Philippines, and China came together at the international stadium in Sano and played some intense matches!
I worked as an interpreter for the closing ceremony.
Before the event, I received the speeches in Japanese, translated them into English, and practiced reading them several times.
And the result? I think I did pretty well!
One thing made me especially happy:
After the ceremony, the coach of the Hong Kong team came up to me and said, “Your English was very clear and easy to understand. Great job!”
That made me really happy!
Later, at the after-party, I also interpreted conversations between Sano City council members and the players.
I hope cricket becomes even more popular in Sano and that I’ll have more chances to interpret again in the future!
